A work resumption examination is only possible if a number of conditions are met (the employee performs a function for which health supervision is required and he or she has been absent continuously for 4 weeks because of an illness, an accident, a disorder, or pregnancy).
An employer may, however, inform the occupational physician if he considers that the employee's state of health increases the risks associated with the workstation or if the employee complains of discomfort or signs of a disorder attributable to his working conditions. The occupational physician will then determine whether a medical examination is necessary for this employee.
