The early years
Moore Belgium was founded in 1967 by brothers Marcel and Frans Verschelden. After a split in 1990 into two branches (Audit and Accountancy) and the integration of ‘Verschelden Audit’ into the Moore Stephens network, the two entities reunited in 2008. This merger also brought a rebranding: the organisation became Moore Stephens Verschelden. A few years later, the name was shortened to Moore Stephens Belgium, before finally becoming Moore Belgium in 2019.
An ever-expanding range of services
Despite the name changes, one thing has always remained the same: our clients come first. In addition to ensuring organic growth, Frans and his cousins Peter and Bart Verschelden invested heavily in non-organic growth between 2008 and 2012. Through mergers and acquisitions in Accountancy, Audit, and Tax & Legal Services, we expanded our service offering for our clients.
Accelerated growth and internationalisation
In 2020, private equity firm Waterland acquired a stake in Moore Belgium, ushering in a new phase of accelerated growth. Acquisitions and integrations of various offices and companies led to the creation of eight business units, also offering cross-over services. In this way, Moore Belgium continues to strengthen its market position.
As a member of the Moore Global network, Moore Belgium also plays a prominent role internationally. This global presence enables us to support our clients with their international ambitions and activities.
