Sustainable and resilient growth
Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) has an interesting subsidy package to support SMEs initiating projects to accelerate international business from Flanders
For starting exporters, FIT has a specific support programme that is launched annually through 2 calls.
SMEs wishing to acquire external knowledge as part of their growth trajectory or considering hiring a strategic profile can receive a subsidy via VLAIO if this growth trajectory is situated within 1 of the 4 defined pillars: internationalisation, innovation, digitalisation or transformation to a sustainable and circular business.
Sustainable investment in the internal organisation
The SME e-wallet is a measure through which you - as an entrepreneur - receive financial support to purchase services that improve the quality of your business. Since January 2023, the scope is limited to a number of future-oriented themes: business strategy, digitalisation, sustainability, innovation, internationalisation, personnel management, financial literacy, job-specific competences
To financially support training efforts for employees, the government has 2 interesting instruments at its disposal.
Recruiting your first employees as well as attracting and employing specific target groups is encouraged by the government.
Europe WSE, the funding agency formerly known as ESF, encourages companies to include themes around workable work and inclusiveness within their corporate culture.
Sustainable investments in operational business processes
Veka - Green energy call is the investment support program of the Flemish government for medium-sized PV installations and small and medium-sized wind turbines.
Ecology Premium + supports investments to improve a production process in an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient manner (limitative list of technologies).
The support is directed towards businesses that make investments to transition from fossil fuels (such as heating oil, natural gas, and diesel) to electricity or green energy (such as biogas and green or blue hydrogen).
For greening business premises, premiums are available through Mijn Verbouwpremie/Fluvius/VEKA to support companies.
