When Moore Belgium and Asteria Group first connected, the conversation fo-cused on a very concrete question: how could Moore support Asteria Group in preparing a CSRD-compliant sustainability report for 2026, given that the group falls within the scope of the regulation. Asteria Group, a leading provider of label printing services, is a fast-growing international organisation with activities and production sites across multiple European countries.

Very quickly, it became clear that sustainability was already deeply embedded in Asteria Group’s DNA. Rather than being a regulatory obligation, sustainability acts as a driver for innovation, value creation and customer satisfaction. The organisation had already integrated sustainable thinking into its day-to-day operations, with strong internal communication and well-established engagement throughout the value chain. This solid foundation provided a strong starting point for the CSRD journey.

From sustainability vision to CSRD compliance

The road towards CSRD was therefore not about defining a new sustainability vision or strategy. Instead, the challenge lay in translating Asteria Group’s existing sustainability ambitions into a structured, compliant and future-proof CSRD report. From the outset, a clear governance structure and a dedicated sustainability team were set up. This team brought together C-level management, subject-matter experts and regional leaders, ensuring both strategic alignment and operational insight.

With a strong collaborative mindset, the double materiality assessment was executed in a fast-track, team-based approach. This process identified the key sustainability topics and focus areas that truly matter for Asteria Group. Extensive interaction with clearly defined stakeholders—including employees across different locations, suppliers and customers—validated these material topics and helped establish a robust baseline for the group’s first CSRD-inspired sustainability report.

Building structure, data and long-term direction

Following the materiality assessment, a clear roadmap was developed, including well-defined KPIs and procedures for step-by-step data collection across entities and countries. This structured approach ensures consistency, transparency and scalability as the organisation continues to grow and as sustainability requirements evolve.

Although CSRD compliance rules changed at the beginning of 2025, Asteria Group deliberately chose to continue investing in sustainability communication. This commitment resulted in the publication of its first sustainability report in autumn, developed in collaboration with 3rd Rock Collective. The report marks an important milestone, but not an endpoint.

Continuing the journey

Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and Asteria Group continues to move forward. Today, the focus is on calculating the group’s carbon footprint and developing a CO₂ reduction plan aligned with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) principles. Together with Moore Belgium, Asteria Group is taking concrete steps to translate ambition into measurable impact.

This partnership illustrates how ESG, CSRD and sustainability reporting can become a source of clarity, engagement and long-term value—when built on an authentic vision, strong collaboration and a structured approach.
