Horizon Europe – Pillar 2: Health

Horizon Europe’s Cluster 1 Health supports research and innovation that strengthens sustainable, resilient, and inclusive healthcare systems through innovative solutions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.

  Supports projects that address major health challenges, such as chronic and infectious diseases, mental health, ageing, and system reform, by developing innovative tools, technologies, and data-driven solutions to improve access, quality, and governance in healthcare. 
Proposals must involve at least three partners from three different EU or associated countries, including academia, industry, and other relevant sectors.

Project duration:
  • 12-48 months
TRL level:
  • Research & Innovation Actions (RIA): 2-6
  • Innovation Actions (IA): 4-6

  3. Tackling diseases and reducing disease burden 
  4. Ensuring equal access to innovative, sustainable, and high-quality healthcare 
  5. Developing and using new tools, technologies and digital solutions for a healthy society 
  6. Maintaining an innovative, sustainable, and competitive EU health industry

 Funding percentage:
  • RIA: Up to 100% for all participants
  • IA: Up to 70% funding (up to 100% for non-profit legal entities)
Average support per project:
  • From €2 M up to €20 M
