The Santens Group is a well-known partner in professional tools, window, door and furniture fittings and automation.
Client requirement
Significant growth and a number of strategic acquisitions led the management to decide to set up a new central distribution centre in order to offer even better services to its customers in a more cost-effective manner. Following completion of the new building, the new organisation structure was gradually introduced starting in 2018. It entailed many challenges - in terms of process and human resources - which is why Moore was asked to support the supply chain team.
Approach
Support was provided in several stages:
- The formulation of operational objectives and creation of a data tool to monitor performance against these objectives on a daily basis.
- Developing and documenting the new operational processes from the point of view of operational staff
- Facilitating learning opportunities concerning these processes for employees
- Creating a team board (and associated training for team leaders) to ensure that each team has the right tool to organise its activities more effectively and proactively: planning, division of labour, KPIs, process improvements, communication.
- Coaching team leaders in how to manage their team.
