Governments support SMEs in their growth and expansion.

**Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT)** has an interesting subsidy package to support SMEs initiating projects to accelerate international business from Flanders

 


SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) or (mixed) Chambers of Commerce with an operational seat in Flanders that are involved in or intend to engage in international business.

Larger enterprises\* are also eligible for the establishment of a prospecting office.

Larger enterprise = consolidated < 500 employees and maximum €100 million annual turnover or maximum €85 million annual balance sheet total.

🕒 Proactively apply

- maximum 4 projects per year
- < 4 projects per year since 2005: uplift subsidy
- 1 customized project / 2 calendar years.

 

 


- Prospecting trip outside the EU (including the UK)
- Participation in foreign trade fair or niche event
- Development and translation of digital, international business communication, such as multilingual webshops/websites, company videos, social media
- Establishment of a prospecting office outside the EU
- International customized project.

 

 


##### Support, depending on the type of project: 

- Prospecting trip: lump sum travel and accommodation expenses
- Foreign trade fair: between 25-75% and a maximum of €7,500
- Digital international communication: base lump sum of €3,000
- Establishment of a prospecting office: standard maximum of 50% of approved costs up to €50,000
- International customized project: standard maximum of 50% of approved costs up to €12,500.
